Hud closing update

Many of you heard that there was a window of opportunity for us  yesterday  for us to be able to ship for closings for HUD transactions.  As of  5pm yesterday HUD will  no longer accept any more sets of figures for this week and due to the VA holiday.   This mandate will stay in place because these closings are still with MCB and the switch to the three new asset managers still has not taken place and this is for a temporary time only.

Colorado often experiences severe  hailstorms  that can cause devastating property damage. The Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association reports that Colorado’s Front Range and Wyoming’s eastern plains, commonly referred to as “hail alley,” receive the highest frequency of large hailstones in North America. Over the past 10 years, hailstorms have caused nearly $1.7 billion in damage to roofs and automobiles in hail alley. The damaging hailstorms generally occur mid-May through late July. Damages incurred to roofs during hailstorms can, however, be reduced with proper roof design and roofing product selection. A properly designed roof structure can substantially reduce hail damage. Several testing agencies have developed the following recommendations for the roof designer: Shingles made with polymer-modified (SBS) asphalt have better resistance to hail damage than shingles made from oxidized asphalt. Fed Votes to Raise Key Interest Rate Again

On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve took a largely expected move to raise its key interest rate one-quarter percentage point. This marks the second of three hikes that is expected to occur this year. While mortgage rates aren’t directly tied to the Fed’s key interest rate, rates are still influenced by the movement. Mortgage rates are predicted to start rising, and many homeowners and prospective homeowners are already bracing for an uptick. In a recent survey of home buyers and owners by Berkshire Hathaway, 55 percent of millennials reported discouragement about buying a home due to rising rates. Some 68 percent feel pressured to buy a home before rates increase further. The latest rate hike is partly justified from ongoing economic expansion and also a steadily falling unemployment rate, however, the Federal Reserve should be mindful of the lower than expected rate of inflation and the consequent low interest rates on long-dated bonds, like 10-year Treasury and 30-year mortgage ...
